After being nearly destroyed by fire, Mr.
Prairie purchased and restored this 1890 Wicker park Victorian mansion.
Often called the "Wicker Mansion", it was one of the main buildings
contributing to the establishment of the Wicker Park Historical District.
Over the ten-year period in which he owned it, Prairie maintained a
continuous restoration of the house, including the recreation of wood
filigree in the front stair balustrade, stained glass replacement, and
refinishing and replacement of existing wood trim.
